Two PhDs Successfully Defended
Sebastian Hoppe and Shota Shvelidze awarded doctoral degrees

Two PhDs of the Chair recently handed in their dissertations and, after their disputation, were awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy. Shota Shvelidze wrote about “Reconciliation – a Framework Concept in Politically Unresolved Ethno-Political Conflict: Case Study of Georgian-Abkhaz Conflict”. Sebastian Hoppe’s thesis was titled “External link The Political Economy of Rent and the Making of State Strategy in Putin's Russia”. Sebastian is now employed at the Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOIS) in Berlin and will take over a temporary professorship (Vertretungsprofessur) at the University of Kassel next winter semester.
